Description
Description | This Technical Cooperation (TC) aims to support the digital transformation of urban planning and governance in Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries by strengthening the institutional capacities of national and subnational governments. By applying technologies such as geospatial data systems, digital twins, and big data analytics, the TC will enhance evidence-based policymaking and integrated urban strategies, fostering more transparent, participatory, and coordinated governance. Drawing on Korea's experience in digital innovation for urban areas, the initiative will address persistent challenges, including limited access to basic services, precarious housing, and restricted economic opportunities. It will also respond to emerging pressures from population aging, shifting household structures, and climate change. Thus, this TC seeks to enable LAC governments to develop inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities by institutionalizing digital technologies as drivers of improved urban governance and more equitable, efficient delivery of urban infrastructure and services. |
