Description

The main objective of the Regional Police Headquarters in Lublin project, which is directed for 104 operational police officers from Lublin police, is to increase effectiveness of activities conducted in scope of preventing and fighting crime detrimental to financial interests of EU and to enhance protection of EU budget against frauds in trade. The operational police officers from Lublin police should possess specialized devices and be equipped in tools for implicit surveillance of criminal environment which will be used in their daily work and thus which will effectively lead to elimination of organized crime focused on committing crimes such as smuggling, trade and production of counterfeit goods without excise mark. Strengthening of operational and investigative capacity of Lublin police by purchase of multifunction mobile post for automated number-plate recognition system, far reaching observation, recording and hidden monitoring is indispensable for better detecting and monitoring any illegal activity affecting the EU budget. Acquiring new skills in operation of purchased equipment will be also crucial for combating all illegal activities detrimental to the EU’s interests. The project will be run in Lublin region from 1st of March, 2019 to 30th of April 2020 (14 months). In medium term perspective realization of the project will contribute to fighting crimes committed to the detriment of the EU financial interests as the aforementioned equipment will be used for uncovering and breaking up international organized crime groups operating in Lublin region, what will contribute to the improvement of safety on the Eastern border of the EU. In long term perspective, project will result in enhancing EU’s citizen trust in law enforcement activities thanks to rise in EU’s safety level. The project realization will be based on efficient project management and will be monitored and evaluated through the whole project realization period.
