Description
Description | The constantly evolving nature of cybercrime requires law enforcement to continuously update their skills and expertise. Creating the best conditions for sharing requirements and training together using state-of-the-art technological capacities - e.g. encryption techniques, artificial intelligence-based simulation, and immersive technology) - are therefore key to keep the pace with technological and criminal developments. The ENFORCE project aims at designing, setting-up, and disseminating a cybercrime training program at the European level. This curriculum will be validated during a training exercise allowing different European public (law enforcement agencies and CERTs) and private actors fighting cybercrime to train together thanks to state-of-the-art training technology. The key outcomes of the project are: (1) A European cybercrime training curriculum to fill in the expertise gap in particular in the context of cross-border and public-private cooperation; (2) A European cybercrime exercise to validate the training curriculum and enable operational cooperation; (3) Recommendations to support the on-going effort to define EU-wide standards for cybercrime training. Community-building in ENFORCE will also seek to engage with law enforcement and academic experts beyond the consortium and facilitate the exchange of best practices. The key beneficiaries of this project will be: - The European institutions and agencies (DG HOME, CEPOL) which are developing standards for cybercrime standards with the support of the European Cybercrime Training and Education Group (ECTEG), involved in the Advisory Board of the project. - European and national law enforcement agencies and CERTS seeking to up-grade their skills, and Police Colleges in charge of educating future cybercrime fighters - The private sector which are key partners of the law enforcement in this context - The European cybercrime community and in particular the researchers who develop training materials |
