Description

Description

In November 2005, the Government of Tamil Nadu (GoT) signed a contract of 30 years (including two and a half years of construction period) to Ennore Tank Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (ETTPL a joint venture between IMC and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.), for the development of marine liquid terminal on Ennore port in Tamil Nadu. The project consisted of setting up of a liquid cargo handling berth at Ennore Port. Please note that Ennore port was designated as a minor port. The consortium won the international competitive tender, conducted by Ennore Port Trust, by quoting the highest revenue share from operations. The consortium then established Ennore Tank Terminal Pvt. Ltd., a special purpose vehicle (SPV), for the execution of the project on a Build, Own, and Transfer (BOT) basis. The total cost of the project was estimated to be US$ 50 million. The project reached financial closure in November 2005. The construction has commenced in November 2005 and the port is expected to be in commercial operation by June 2008.
