Description | Entergy Arkansas' Nuclear One Unit 2 underwent a refueling and maintenance shutdown starting March 14, involving 13,000 tasks and more than 195,000 hours of work. The overhaul included replacement and installation of key components such as the reactor vessel head, main chillers, cooling tower fill, feedwater heater bundles, SPDS inverter, reactor vessel level monitoring system, loss of field modification, steam generator inspections, and overhaul of main steam isolation valves. The unit has returned to operation, producing nearly 990 megawatts and providing about 20% of Arkansas' electricity. |
