Description | The objective of the Enterprise Reform Project is to learn from innovative methods for the reform of China's state-owned enterprise sector. Its development objectives are to identify and adapt potential improvements in enterprise reform methods to local circumstances, test their feasibility through pilot implementation, and make these lessons widely known among local and central policy-makers. Components of the projects consist of a) restructuring models for large and medium enterprises; b) management development; c) retraining and reemployment of "laid off" state-owned enterprise employees; and d) development of private small and medium enterprises. Each component will be implemented in the following areas: Changsha, Shenyang, Wuhan, and Wuhu. |
