Description
Description | The project consists of upgrades to the Brudenell Wastewater Treatment System. It upgrades an aging system, making it more cost effective to run and eliminating a point load discharge from a shellfish harvesting area. The scope of the work includes the addition of a new lift station, two new settling ponds, revisions to the concrete reactor chambers, rejuvenating the exterior of the existing plant building, rejuvenating the system process piping valving, aeration piping and system controls, and cut and cap of the discharge pipe to the Brudenell River. The project aims to rejuvenate the existing infrastructure, reduce the ongoing operational work and associated costs involved in hauling sludge, remove a point load discharge from the river to make facility "Zero Discharge", reduce the potential for contamination to the shellfish harvesting area, and eliminate the requirement for a joint management plan between the various stakeholders which allows EISI to operate the facility in a shellfish harvesting area. |
