Description

Description

The ESR Belt Project integrates environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical community engagement into martial arts training, fostering transformative change and active citizenship. By upscaling the Green Belt initiative, the project introduces an Environmentally and Socially Responsible (ESR) belt ranking system, embedding EU values in the process. Through structured social responsibility targets, athletes engage in voluntary and community-led activities as part of their belt progression, supporting vulnerable groups and reinforcing sports as a tool for social impact. The project encourages healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness by organizing plogging races and open training sessions, combining physical activity with environmental responsibility. To enhance engagement, non-members participating in plogging events can earn free training opportunities, fostering youth participation and attracting new members through a values-driven promotional campaign. To enhance transnational and cross-sectoral cooperation, the project engages sports clubs, educational institutions, social enterprises, and NGOs working on social initiatives. It facilitates knowledge exchange through an online ESR belt rank system event and Synergy Day, fostering new cross-border collaborations in sports and social inclusion. A key focus is strengthening the capacity of sports organizations. The project establishes partnerships through dedicated networking and validation events, trains coaches, athletes, and staff to ensure the long-term adoption of the ESR belt system. Key Performance Indicators include piloting the ESR belt system, engaging 60 athletes in social responsibility, and reaching 5,000 people through awareness campaigns. The project will establish 9 partnerships with NGOs and communities, attract 210 plogging race participants, and train 150 staff, coaches, and athletes.
