The project involves financing environmentally friendly urban infrastructure investments in the Indian state of Odisha. The aim of the project is to improve the environmental situation and municipal service provision and thus also the living conditions of the local population. The project consists of an investment component and an accompanying measure. A FC development loan (low-interest loan) of EUR 55 million was given as a credit line via the Indian state to the state of Odisha, which passed this on to the Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (OUIDF). OUIDF was founded in 2012 with the support of German FC (BMZ No. 2008 66 087). It provides municipalities and other state bodies with financing for municipal infrastructure investments with positive environmental effects. Accompanying personnel support measures amounting to up to EUR 2.0 million serve to support municipalities in planning infrastructure projects and capacity building, as well as the OUIDF Secretariat in fund management. This is the second phase of cooperation with the OUIDF.
