Conox Ltd. has developed a new and innovative proprietary technology to process black liquor from the straw pulp manufacturing process. This novel technology is expected to eliminate the straw pulp''s largest source of pollution and has the potential to address the largest source of water pollution in China.The success of the technology developed by Conox will have an important developmental impact in China as well as in many other developing countries where wood resources are scarce and where non-wood resources are available for pulp production: - It will reduce pollution from the pulp and paper industry; - reduce rural poverty (as straw pulp mills or other renewable material based mills are located in rural areas); - strengthen small and medium-scale businesses (as straw pulp mills are typically small); and - create new jobs in new mills or preserve existing ones by avoiding closure of existing straw pulp mills.
