EPICUR Shaping Higher Education In Transition

EPICUR is opening a new chapter in its story. Over the next 10 years, we will strive to foster and develop ever closer collaborations among our students, academics, researchers and support staff to become a full-fledged federation of universities offering seamless European learning, training and research mobility experience. Following a step-wise approach to secure deeper and wider cooperation, EPICUR will move from the pilot project-based management approach (phase 1), to a structural integration of policies and activities (phase 2), paving the way for sustainable long-term cooperation in a whole-of-institution framework (phase 3). Drawing on our experience and achievements, EPICUR will continue to develop unique collaborative digital infrastructures, made by universities for universities (WP3). To reach 50% student mobility by 2026 across our member institutions, we will continue innovative physical, blended, and hybrid ‘flipped mobility’ formats and connect key support services to provide shared procedures and services (WP2). Building on our shared commitment to transform, we will establish an EPICUR education portfolio, embed new formats in our existing and future curricula, create immersive European classroom experiences as well as transition-focused inter- and transdisciplinary approaches (WP4). We will maintain our efforts to foster entrepreneurial mind-sets among students and researchers to encourage societal engagement (WP5). Research- and transfer-oriented training will be a driving force continuously pushing our alliance forward (WP6). EPICUR will institute renewed governance structures modelled on those of a university, to integrate all our member universities’ stakeholders and provide quality assurance (WP1). To achieve our ambitions, we will follow an agreed-upon global roadmap defining clear and transparent processes for the smooth implementation of activities with quality control procedures and a comprehensive impact assessment policy (WP7).
