Description

Description

-Purpose. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), solicits the submission of investigator-initiated research grant applications to support research investigating the epidemiology of alcohol use and alcohol use disorders and the prevention of underage drinking, alcohol use disorders, and other alcohol-related harms. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) award mechanism and runs in parallel with two FOAs of identical scientific scope, PA-07-448 and PA-07-449, that solicit applications under the R01 and R21 mechanisms. -The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
