Description | The prevalence of liver diseases in the communes of the interior is a considerable challenge for Guyana and its nearby region. Especially since these diseases are sexually transmitted and often diagnosed late. They are also associated with high morbidity and mortality and cause the majority of liver cancers. It is therefore essential that the population of the Plateau des Guyanes can know its status with regard to these diseases and have an appropriate treatment. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: This is a cross-sectional study on the prevalence of hepatitis B, C and D infection and HIV among adult Maroni populations. Knowledge of these diseases from these populations will also be identified, so that they benefit from appropriate prevention and treatment. |
