Description	The EPIBIO project follows on from the PRPV (2003-2008) and E PRPV (2008-2013) projects on the Enlargement and Sustainability of the Plant Protection Network. The objective of these programmes was to secure the food and energy systems of the IOC countries by promoting their complementarities at the level of their agricultural economies on certain key sectors. Indeed, due to the proximity and similarity of the island ecosystems of these five countries, they share a large number of phytosanitary problems related to the presence of pests and diseases occurring on crops with high economic potential such as vegetable and fruit crops.
