"On the celebrations of the International Day of Rural Women, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that ""rural women represent the backbone of many communities, but they continue to face obstacles that prevent them from reaching their potential"" (2019). Although it is recognised that women are fundamental to building cohesive, sustainable and developed societies, there are still many problems with their participation and representation, which brings us back to the situations of inequality and discrimination in which women still find themselves. In the agricultural sector in particular, according to data provided by the United Nations, about 1 in 3 women with jobs in the world work in this sector. Nevertheless, again according to the UN Secretary-General, this sector is no exception to the reality of society in general and here too there are no equal conditions between men and women farmers. In this sector, women are represented in the different existing posts, such as at the operation, planning and finance levels, but they have undervalued roles compared to men. There is also some participation in leadership positions, but this participation tends to be reduced. Given women's capabilities and potential - ""in all sectors, communities and societies, women have important contributions to make to leadership - diverse leadership benefits all people and communities"" (UN Women, 2021) - it is imperative that society creates the conditions necessary for women to be able to participate, be involved and be fully represented in all positions and with similar conditions as men. The project will contribute to eradicate the social problem by increasing the understanding of the current situation of women in the agricultural sector, raising awareness of their challenges, but also of their value and potential. With this, we intend to contribute to changing practices, norms, policies, strategies, and also society's own perception of the work developed by women in rural areas."
