Description
Description | The mission of EAPN mission is to promote a socially inclusive and sustainable Europe, free from poverty and inequalities. In the next 4 years, this project will focus on defending the rights of people experiencing poverty and engaging with stakeholders on policies for its full eradication. Our network aims at ensuring a socially inclusive and sustainable Europe free from social exclusion and discrimination. The 2026-2029 framework proposal focuses on defending the rights of people experiencing poverty by incorporating their voices alongside data-driven political analysis from 32 national networks and 12 European organisations. As a result of 35 years of experience, EAPN would focus on: (a) Data collection and integrating voices of ground: Highlighting the root causes of poverty using statistics, alternatives indicators and personal testimonies. (b) Policy and Advocacy foresight and implementation: Overseeing the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan and promoting the upcoming European anti-Poverty Strategy; (c) Engagement with EU Processes: Monitoring the European Semester (including the European funds and the Recovery and Resilience plans), the Multiannual Financial Framework decisions, with a focus on tax justice and the rule of law. (d) Empowerment of PeP/AROP Communities: Supporting those experiencing poverty—especially groups facing added vulnerabilities—in mobilizing for their rights. (e) Influencing EU Policies: Shaping debates beyond social rights and ensuring social mainstreaming on key policies such as the green and digital transitions, gender equality, anti-discrimination, migration, housing, homelessness. The plan emphasises a holistic, intersectional, structural and systemic approach that combines policy change, funding strategies, and community-driven narratives to achieve long-term structural change and empower the voices of communities of People Experiencing Poverty. |
