Information Department of Water Resources, River Development, has come up with ERM of the Loktak LIS with a ticket size of 81.59 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is COD and is being developed through the PPP route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Project is situated in the Bishnupur and Imphal West Districts of Manipur State, envisages the construction of Head Works Pumps, Canal system [Moirang Low Level Canal, Imphal Main Canal, and Imphal Low Level Canal] under Phase 1 to cover CCA of 12600 Ha. The project, on completion of phase 1, will create an ultimate irrigation potential of 17,400 ha with an intensity of irrigation of 138 per cent. The project has been approved and included under PMKSY AIBP by DoWR, RD and GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India in the year 2022 vide their letter No P 19011 7 2021 SPR 2056 70 dated 2 November 2022 for estimated balance cost of Rs 57.71 Cr with central share of Rs 51.939 Cr However, the total cost of the project approved by ICC is Rs 81.59 crore [Works 78.5199 Cr and Establishment Rs 3.0701 Cr]
