ERTMS On-board in Sweden 2024-2027

The main objective of the project is to deploy ERTMS Baseline 3 Level 2 on-board and retrofit train-sets and locomotives in order to cope with the planned trackside ERTMS roll-out in Sweden. The Project is divided into four work packages, one for each railway company and one for project management. All work packages for deployment include installation and authorisation of all vehicles belonging to the railway companies. One work package also includes prototype installation, testing and authorisation. Total scope of the Project is 42 vehicles (42 OBUs) to be equipped, including one prototype. The vehicle installations including one OBU per vehicle concern only retrofit. The vehicles will be used for national passenger and freight operation and some with an area of use also including two neighbouring countries (Denmark and Norway).
