Description

Description

The project includes the development of 42 kilometers long highway section connecting Escuintla to Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala. This route will transform the current road section of the Central American route CA-9 South "A", which connects the municipality of Escuintla with Puerto Quetzal, from kilometer 60.9 to 102.1, on a highway with high-quality standards and high levels of service. The scope of works also involves the construction of supporting facilities such as Cranes, emergency telephones, rest areas, and parking bays. The Escuintla - Puerto Quetzal Highway will provide a better service for the users of the 10,000 light vehicles, 3,800 heavy vehicles and more than 1,200 buses that circulate day in the place. The section represents an important logistic corridor for the country due to the fact that it communicates the metropolitan area with Puerto Quetzal, a terminal that moves more than 50% of imports and exports by sea. In addition, the section connects users with important tourist sites in the Pacific, industrial and real estate projects.
