Description
Description | Erasmus Student Network is a key stakeholder in the field of student representation in Higher Education within the field of learning mobility, and bringing the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme closer to students and local communities. ESN follows the development on the four general priorities of the Von der Leyen Commission; ● ESN aims to increase the participation of young people with fewer opportunities that are underrepresented in mobility opportunities. ● International mobility has a costly impact on the environment due to frequent travelling. ESN aims at reducing this impact ● Democratic Participation in Educational Policies is instigated by organising local outreach initiatives for international students in their local communities is important to build a more integrated and inclusive society. ● Providing students and student representatives with the needed competences to face challenges in the global society we live in today. A lot of our work plan is targeted at instigating the multiplier effect on these topics, as we believe student involvement is detrimental in the stakeholder engagement process to improve the European Education Area and the Erasmus+ programme as one of Europe’s most successful flagship projects. Through coordination of ESN International that is based on needs assessment coming from our members through our governance structures that are student led, these are supported by introducing consultations with students and student representatives as the first step in each of the subsequent actions in the work plan. In order to ensure student representatives are able to support students in a peer-to-peer approach, ESN introduces non-formal learning mechanisms to build their capacity to helping students reach an optimal exchange experience abroad, help students understand their learning experience and interact with local communities and advocate for quality mobility towards their stakeholders. |
