Description

Description

The Electrifying Essex EV Charging Programme involves the planning, installation, operation, and long-term management of a county-wide electric vehicle (EV) charging network across Essex. Supported by £8.38 million from the UK Government’s Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund, the programme aims to deliver a minimum of 5,000 EV charging sockets through a combination of on-street and off-street charging solutions. The initiative is being delivered through concession contracts awarded to Believ Ltd and Qwello, focusing particularly on residents who do not have access to private driveways or off-street parking. The project seeks to expand access to reliable charging infrastructure while minimizing street clutter by integrating charging points into existing street furniture and public spaces, thereby supporting the transition to sustainable transportation and increasing EV adoption across Essex.
