Description
Description | The project aims to develop a 5G-based disaster-resilient mobile network capable of providing real-time communication with broadband voice/data/image/video transmission services, with extensive coverage, high availability, high (gigabit) bandwidth and reliability for public authorities and agencies (in particular police, border guards and ambulance services) performing public (health, police and border protection) tasks. Geographically, the project will be implemented along the 136.7 km Hungarian-Ukrainian border, which is an external Schengen border and where broadband coverage is currently not available. The project therefore has a high EU security and border protection significance. The project consortium is led by Pro-M Professional Mobilradio Private Company Ltd., a special PPDR (Public Protection and Disaster Relief) telecommunications service provider, mobile network operator (MNO), and the consortium members are socio-economic drivers: the National Ambulance Service (health service provider), the National Police Headquarters (public authority), the Hungarian Defence Forces Command, which is responsible for defence policy and defence economy, and the 100% state owned IdomSoft Zrt (Ltd), which is a key player in the development of electronic public services and systems. The primary areas of use will be health services, law enforcement and border protection. Pilot investments and developments will be carried out, and innovative solutions and use-cases will be developed on the resulting infrastructure, which will be applicable as best practices for other users, sectors and geographical areas. |
