Establishment of an edible oil extraction plant

Maraki family industry and commercial plc. owned by three business partners was established in 2021 to set-up an edible oil extraction plant from oilseeds such as Linseed, Niger and Ground-nut. The project promoters had conducted a market analysis before starting the business and the result shows that in Ethiopia, currently, the total demand for edible oil is estimated to be 906 million litres per year, of which, only 10 percent of the total demand is currently covered by the local production. The plant will have a capacity of refining 50 tons per day at the full capacity of production at estimated investment cost of 1.2 million US$. The promoters have already started the construction of the plant with nearly 65% of the civil construction being completed. The promoters are looking for an International partner who could contribute through capital infusion in the project for its completion.
