Information Dept. of Microbiology has come up with Establishment of new Medical College & Hospital Chamba at Sarol with a ticket size of 189 INR Crores. This project in Medical Infrastructure sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru Govt Medical College was Established in 2017 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme by upgradation of District Hospital with 90:10 central & State Share. Sanctioned Year: 2016 Construction of New Campus has been proposed in 3 Phase Phase 1 189 Crore, Approved 200 bedded hospital, OPDs for 8 departments like Medicine, Pediatrics, Psychiatric, Chest and TB, Surgery, ENT, OBG, Dental, Casualty, Radiology. Hostel for MBBS boys, 150Capacity, girls hostel 150Capacity and Nurses,49 and accommodation like Type III-36 and Type IV-24, Residences Biomedical waste incinerator. Phase II 193.81 Crore ,yet not approved Administrative block cum college building Residence of Principal, Type-VII and Medical Superintendent, Type-VII Interns Male & Female Hostel,50 Capacity, Resident Dr. Hostel, 62 Capacity Phase-III 35.56 Crore Yet not approved Sarai Bhawan and auditorium ,Oxygen Concentrator Physical Status of Phase I Boys Hostel, Nurses Hostel, 24 No Type IV accommodating has been completed and inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on dated 31/07/2023 and occupied by this college. Hospital A OPD Block, Hospital B Emergency Block Except First Floor, Hospital C IPD Block Expect Ground Floor, Electrical Substation and Services Block has almost been completed. Some miscellaneous works in progress and will be completed very shortly as stated by NBCC ,India Ltd. The construction work of 36 No. Type III staff quarter & Girls hostel is in progress and likely to be completed by 31/03/2025 as stated by executing agency, NBCC India Ltd.
