Estádio da Luz Redevelopment and New Arena Project

SL Benfica is planning a wide-ranging redevelopment project around the Estádio da Luz stadium, including modernising the stadium facilities and adding new venues such as a 10,000-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena, two indoor sports halls, a community swimming pool, a theatre and events space, an outdoor rooftop football pitch and running track, and commercial and residential facilities. The project also includes a new stadium façade with integrated LED lighting, a new fourth level with mixed-use space, and a new fan plaza. The project aims to position the stadium as a premier international sports and entertainment destination and is planned to begin construction in June 2027 with a two-year construction period.
