Description

Description

The project by Eesti Noorteühenduste Liit aims to boost youth civic engagement over three years through interactive education on elections, training for EU youth delegates, and a national youth forum. It includes outreach to underserved areas, policy discussions, and sustainability initiatives, aligning with national priorities in youth development and education. The Estonian EU Youth Dialogue project aims to empower young people aged 15–26 to actively engage in democratic processes and contribute to shaping policies at local, national, and EU levels. Anchored in the EU Youth Strategy (2019–2027), the project addresses key challenges such as low youth participation, misinformation, and barriers to inclusivity by fostering civic engagement, promoting media literacy, and building advocacy skills. Through a comprehensive approach that includes interactive workshops, media literacy training, intergenerational dialogues, and debates, the project equips youth with the tools and knowledge to navigate democratic systems effectively. Special emphasis is placed on preparing young people for the 2025 Estonian local elections and 2027 Riigikogu elections while fostering cross-generational understanding and collaboration on societal challenges like mental health and sustainability. The project also focuses on enhancing digital literacy, combating misinformation, and promoting ethical AI use, ensuring that youth are informed participants in the digital age. By building a network of empowered youth leaders and creating opportunities for inclusive dialogue, the initiative bridges gaps between generations and amplifies underrepresented voices, particularly those facing economic, social, and geographical barriers.
