Eswatini - Technical Assitance for Gender Policy Implementation

The proposed project concerns a grant for an amount not exceeding UA 100,000 to the Kingdom of Eswatini, from the resources of the Middle Income Country Technical Assistance Fun (MIC TAF) in order to support the capacity of the Gender Coordination Unit, Department of Gender and Family Issues under the Deputy Prime Minister Office to finalise and operationalise the Gender Policy in order to advance gender equality. The Bank intervention responds to the Government request of 4th February 2022 and will help the government to advance the country legal framework on gender. This will contribute to women economic participation and empowerment in Eswatini. The MIC Grant complements the existing Bank interventions in Eswatini and will support effective gender mainstreaming. This project aligns with the Eswatini- Support for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth (SERIG) Phase II whose main objective is to enhance economic governance, improve investment climate and increase social protection for inclusive growth and accelerated post COVID-19 recovery.
