Description | Economic/Social Impact of the Project Etalin Hydro Electric Project is a run of the river hydro electric scheme located in Dibang Valley District, Arunachal Pradesh with an installed capacity of 3,097 MW and the largest of the hydroelectric projects [in terms of installed capacity] being currently developed in India. The project envisages construction of two dams over the tributaries of Dibang River namely Dri and Tangon. The anticipated date of commissioning is 84 months, subsequent to beginning of construction activities. The project is being executed through the Etalin Hydro Electric Power Company Limited, a Joint Venture [JV] company of Jindal Power Limited and Hydro Power Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited. |
