Description | The National ID program, known as Fayda, is a digital identity system aimed at supporting Ethiopia's goal of a fully digital economy by 2030. It facilitates inclusivity, service accessibility, and public trust by enabling economic participation for cottage industries, micro-enterprises, and small businesses, and providing access to credit for the agricultural workforce. The system also decentralizes state service delivery, improves transparency, and supports rural communities in accessing agricultural inputs, tax management, health insurance, school enrollment, and banking. |
