Etobicoke Creek Valley Landfill Study for two landfills (technical data) to analyze and document the condition of the landfill to support the City’s Downtown Revitalization Project

Investigative work on two landfill sites within the Etobicoke Creek valley (south-west of Queen St and Kennedy Road in the vicinity of Centennial Park) to determine the condition and extent of the feature in order to determine if the landfill poses any constraints to flood mitigation alternatives for Downtown Brampton. The project scope will include activities typically undertaken to complete Environmental Site Assessments, and may include historical documentation review, boreholes, surveys and geotechnical assessments. The outcomes of the investigation will be used to refine the design of the flood mitigation infrastructure work identified in Project BRAM-001. Valley reshaping to improve flood storage and conveyance will be required and as such the extent and condition of the landfill is a critical factor.
