The ETUCLEX project application for 2023-2024 sets out actions to continue and further develop awareness-raising, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building for legal experts in the European trade union movement. As such, the ETUCLEX aims to enhance and give more visibility to the ETUC work in the field of legal and human rights expertise. With a view to further strengthen the capacities of the ETUC and its affiliates, the structure stimulates exchange of information and experiences, building synergies and mutual support, while at the same time fostering a more strategic approach to litigation. The capacity of the ETUC to provide legal and human rights expertise and support to its affiliates has developed over the years and gained in recognition and added value for the trade union movement in Europe. As part of this work, the ETUC is implementing a renewed human rights, legal and (strategic) litigation support structure, the ETUCLEX. This structure consolidates the fruitful collaboration with affiliates, including through existing trade union legal expert networks and bodies such as the NETLEX and the ETUC Fundamental Rights and Litigation Advisory Group. This application for a project with a duration of two years comprises activities such as meetings and conferences to discuss recent developments in European jurisprudence and labour law, training opportunities to build capacity in litigation, as well as thematic activities strengthening the knowledge base and legal capacity of the ETUC and its affiliates in the field of working time.
