The Icelandic eTwinning NSO will continue to build upon our work in the past years, while adding extra components to further strengthen the status of eTwinning in Iceland. The main priorities for the period 2021-2023 are as follows: First and foremost is the mission of promoting eTwinning to Icelandic teachers and student-teachers, while providing assistance and inspiration to existing eTwinning teachers. eTwinning will continue to be presented as a direct route to collaborating with European teachers. The NSO will work with all stakeholders, whether ITE, relevant ministries, teacher’s union, as well as the schooling institutions themselves. Increasing the number of registrations both for schools and teachers. The continued communication of all awards, as well as quantitative targets for the awards is listed. The NSO will continue to offer teachers professional development opportunities abroad. The new work plan accounts for the addition of domestic professional development opportunities. The different target groups include current teaching staff, student-teachers, VET teachers, ECEC teachers as well as teachers on secondary and upper secondary levels. With the shift towards the European School Education Platform, the relevant target group is widened further to policy makers across all levels as well as professionals in the education industry. The NSO will continue to work with the Ministry of Education to embed eTwinning in national school policies. The focus of our work will be inclusion and diversity, as well will encourage our teachers to take part in and create projects based on this focus. Furthermore, the focus will be on increasing and strengthening the participation of rural and remote schools in Iceland. European co-operation can be an immense benefit to the work of these schools, considering their limited resources and reduced opportunities.
