eTwinning is a leading platform under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, promoting digital collaboration among schools across Europe. Since Türkiye joined in 2009, eTwinning has become a powerful tool for enhancing teachers’ and students’ digital skills, intercultural understanding, and project-based learning. Türkiye now ranks first in the number of users, projects, and Quality Labels, reflecting strong teacher motivation for innovative practices and international cooperation. The project is coordinated nationally by the Turkish National Support Organisation (NSO) within the Ministry of National Education's Directorate General for Innovation and Educational Technologies. With 83 ambassadors in 81 provinces, the NSO supports teachers through school visits, training activities, and outreach efforts. Teachers benefit from blended learning opportunities, including webinars, MOOCs, workshops, and conferences, with special support provided to those in rural areas. The 2026–2027 project period aims to increase active participation from disadvantaged regions, strengthen engagement in VET, ECEC, and ITE sectors, and promote the integration of eTwinning into national education policies. Cooperation with education faculties will continue to engage teacher candidates and support their digital pedagogical skills. Key European priorities such as environmental sustainability, digital competence, and democratic participation will be integrated into national actions to support classroom practices. With a wide teacher network, strong digital infrastructure, and systematic monitoring, Türkiye’s eTwinning community will continue to stand out as a model at both national and European levels.
