Description

The European Commission has decided to exclude photovoltaic (PV) inverters and power conversion systems (PCS) from China and other high-risk countries from EU-funded clean energy projects. This ban could impact more than 28 GWdc of solar PV inverter demand and about 14% of forecast solar PV demand across Europe between 2026 and 2030. The restrictions also affect approximately 12% of projected energy storage deployments, especially utility-scale battery projects. The policy aims to reduce security risks linked to the dominance of Chinese suppliers in Europe's inverter market.
