Description
Description | The objective of this Council of Europe (CoE) project is to contribute to the effective and coherent application of European law in the areas of rule of law, criminal law and fundamental rights, as enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and in the European Convention on Human Rights, by helping to address the training needs of justice professionals in these fields. This will be done by enhancing EU justice institutional capacities (multipliers) and justice professionals’ knowledge and skills to effectively and coherently apply European rule of law and fundamental rights standards through: 1) qualifying justice professionals from national justice training institutions and European networks (multipliers) to deliver training on European rule of law and fundamental rights (both CoE and EU acquis) and 2) training EU justice professionals – primarily newly / to be appointed justice professionals – to apply European rule of law and fundamental rights standards in their daily work. The project will benefit at least 780 EU justice professionals. The project will focus on a) 4 cross-border seminar/study visits for multipliers b) 4 cross-border training of trainers’ workshops; and c) 20 cross-professional implementations of HELP online (tutored) courses on priority topics. Additionally, 7 HELP national eDesks on Asylum and Migration to support EU lawyers assisting those fleeing the war in Ukraine will be made available under this project. This CoE project does not overlap with current EU-CoE HELP in the EU III project. |
