Description
Description | "EU Competition Law and Digital Market aims to endow students with a profound comprehension of European law and its profound impact on the Albanian Legal system. The overarching objective of this module is to examine the ""muscular"" intervention of the Digital Market Act to restore competition in the digital markets. Through critical analyses and new teaching methodologies, the module will explore the interaction between EU competition law and the digital market and discuss recent ongoing cases of NCAs at EU Member States against potential ""gatekeepers"". The overarching objective of the module is to analyse the application of EU competition rules in the digital market. To achieve this overarching objective, the Jean Monnet Module foresee the following sub-goals: - considers the provisions and implications of the Digital Markets Act, which imposes a series of prescriptive ex-ante obligations on large digital gatekeepers. - explore the interaction between EU competition law and the digital market; - discuss the competition dynamic that typically arises from digital markets; - discuss recent or ongoing cases of NCAs at EU Member States against potential “gatekeepers” and - impact that Digital Market Act will have in candidate countries like Albania. The project's structure encompasses the following key components: · A tailored course on ""EU Competition Law and Digital Markets"" that targets undergraduate and graduate students. This course aims to deepen the understanding of the relationship between competition law and tech companies. A summer school on “Competition Law and Digital Markets: Challenges and Perspectives” organized with students from public and private universities, young professionals working in the private sector (law firm) or public sector, representatives from the business tech sector and civil society. Public Panels on ""Enforcement of Albanian Competition Rules in Digital Environment: Challenges and Perspectives”" |
