The project is centered on the development of a specialized course, “EU Digital Law” at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University in Kazakhstan. This initiative aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of EU digital law, covering key regulations such as the GDPR, AI Act, Digital Services Act, and Digital Markets Act. The course will integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications, reflecting the EU’s legal framework for digital governance, privacy protection, and AI and platform regulation. The project will begin with the development of course materials, ensuring students gain in-depth insights into EU digital law and its global impact. To further engage students in applied learning, a policy roundtable series will be organized, bringing together academics, policymakers, and legal professionals to discuss the implications of EU digital regulations for Kazakhstan’s digital transformation and legal system. Additionally, guest lectures featuring legal experts will provide perspectives on data protection, AI ethics, and digital rights enforcement. Public lectures and workshops will further expand the project’s impact beyond academia, engaging civil society and policymakers in discussions on digital rights, data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity. By fostering academic research, policy engagement, and international collaboration, the project will enhance legal education at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University and strengthen dialogue between Kazakhstan and EU institutions. The emphasis on EU digital law and regulatory best practices positions this initiative as a cornerstone in shaping informed digital policies and strengthening Kazakhstan’s approach to data protection and AI regulation.
