Description | There is a particular research gap among higher education students of Uzbekistan in understanding the EU’s regional approach towards Central Asian republics and EU’s policy in Afghanistan in the current reality. Therefore, there is a need for a more detailed explanation of the EU regional strategy and its main objectives. In this regard, the university course “EU foreign policy in Central Asia and Afghanistan” for the Bachelor students of the School of International Relations at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy can be a unique opportunity to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies in Uzbekistan; generate new knowledge in terms of EU foreign policy in Central Asia and Afghanistan; as well as foster the dialogue between the academia and Uzbek civil servants and local level policymakers since UWED graduates carry out professional activity in the system of the state administration bodies related to foreign policy activity in diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign countries in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the ministries and the state committees. The general objectives of the Project are: • Knowledge transfer in terms of European Union Studies and strengthening of understanding of EU’s foreign policy goals and objectives towards Central Asia and Afghanistan; • Generation of new knowledge for prospective partnership opportunities between the European Union and Central Asian republics + Afghanistan; • Enabling a network of enlightened future Uzbek civil servants and researchers who will enhance global cooperation through dialogue and intercultural exchange; developing of better understanding of the European values; • Promoting development/extension of new academic research on EU Studies in Uzbekistan. • Preparing a handbook on EU-CA cooperation for the last 30 years |
