Sector: Hydrogen • Location: European Union
Source: Hydrogen Insight
The EU has allocated more than €20bn in subsidies for green hydrogen to decarbonise industries and incentivise the use of zero-carbon gas. Despite a 51% increase in installed electrolyser capacity between 2023 and 2024, the EU is falling behind its targets, with only 308MW built by the end of 2024 and 1.8GW under construction, compared to a target of 6GW by then and 40GW by 2030.
