Entitled as “EU Integration and Turkey” (IntegrEUtor)”, the module is designed in order to create awareness and disseminate knowledge on the EU, its institutional structure, decision-taking mechanism, integration policy and EU-Turkey relations among the university students in Turkey. IntegrEUtor consists of two interconnected and interrelated areas, introduction to the EU and EU-Turkey relations. Founded in 1773, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is one of the oldest and well-structured university in Turkey. ITU takes 5th place in national level and 701-750 place in Worldwide.1 However, ITU mainly focuses on engineering education and does not have a course related to EU for undergraduate level. Thus, this module aims to provide an understanding of the EU with a specific focus on EU integration policies and stimulate inter-disciplinary research in different dimensions of EU-Turkey relations. IntegrEUtor provides each year 1) A lecture on EU’s integration policies and EU-Turkey relations. 2) A workshop with participation of graduate students, academics, NGOs and public bodies. The courses and workshops will be in Turkish. The lecture will be an elective course in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at ITU and offered for third and fourth year undergraduate students, from all departments and faculties of ITU. The source will open twice a year (in fall and spring semesters). For each semester, the duration of the course is 42 hours (14 weeks). The module seeks to reach its goal by involving key players such as students, academics from various universities, NGO’s and public bodies. A module website will be prepared and all the outputs of the module will be published for disseminations. ITU is part of many national and international projects with various partners. These networks will be also used for dissemination activities. Further dissemination will be achieved through conference papers and academic publications.
