The intensification of European integration processes in Ukraine, which are caused, among other factors, by the EU’s granting our country the status of a candidate for EU membership on June 23, 2022, demands deepening knowledge of EU law, both in theoretical and practical dimensions. The proposed course “European Union Law: Modern Problems of Theory and Practice” is intended for deepening postgraduate (PhD) students’ knowledge of EU law, based on already learned information during obtaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The course includes 54 teaching hours per year (162 hours in total), the total audience will comprise more than 200 PhD students. Participants of the project, Associate Professor Liudmyla Falalieieva, and Senior Lecturer Bohdan Strilets, are scientific workers and teachers at V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, an educational-scientific establishment based in Kyiv, Ukraine, which specializes in 4 fields: law, international law, public administration, and political science. Established in 1949, now it is a leading legal research institution in Ukraine, and has many international contacts. The team actually includes two generations: a young researcher, and senior scientist and teacher, who will be happy to share experience with younger generation. The team and Institute itself are applying for such a grant for the first time. None of the participants received Erasmus+ grants within the projects of other higher educational institutions. The funding will greatly support the extension of EU law teaching under wartime conditions in Ukraine. Expected results include: deepening PhD students’ knowledge of EU law with their further disseminating this information among young people, which is pretty important in the context of Ukraine’s integration into the EU; attracting young scientists to legal research related to EU law. Budget (lump sum): 14.000 EUR.
