Description

Description

As an Ambassador School for the European Parliament, we propose implementing a Jean Monnet Learning EU initiative for our secondary school students, aiming to foster a deeper European identity, active citizenship, and a comprehensive understanding of the European Union. This initiative will integrate EU-focused content across the curriculum and extracurricular activities, covering key topics like democracy, EU history, cultural diversity, and EU policymaking. Among the proposed activities are interactive project weeks, study visits to EU institutions, debates, and collaboration with other schools, institutions, and NGOs. These immersive experiences will strengthen students' sense of belonging to the EU, deepening their understanding of its influence in their daily lives. Teachers will also benefit from innovative teaching methods focused on EU-related topics, enhancing both their pedagogical skills and the overall learning outcomes for students. Aligned with Jean Monnet's objectives, this initiative will significantly increase the teaching of EU-related content across subjects. Additionally, it aims to engage educators in advancing EU literacy, inspiring students to embrace EU values and become active participants in shaping the future of Europe. By embedding EU topics within our educational framework, we are working towards cultivating an informed, engaged, and empowered generation of European citizens, who will be better equipped to understand and contribute to the European project in meaningful ways. This initiative will promote a lasting connection between students and the European Union, furthering both their academic and personal development. Moreover, students will be encouraged to explore EU values beyond the classroom, through activities such as volunteering, EU youth forums, and collaborations with other European schools. This will create a more holistic approach to citizenship and a stronger sense of European solidarity.
