EU Matters: Enhancing EU Teaching

The project aims at: -Allowing schools and VET providers (ISCED 1-4) to build knowledge about the EU among their teaching staff - Offering structured training proposals on EU subjects for schools and VET providers, providing content and methodologies for teacher teaching at various levels, from different backgrounds and experience - Delivering specific individual or group training courses (blended or online) for teachers interested in the EU and willing to integrate EU subjects in their daily work - Enabling teachers to introduce EU content in their activities - Development of European Identity Activities: - Developing EU Matters course - Developing EU Matters methodologies - Formal Training courses - Capstone project - Bootcamp - Seminar - Workshop Target group: The ultimate target group of the project is represented by VET students and school students in Italy and in Europe. The main focus is the “persona” of VET and school students. The direct target group for the project is 35 teachers who may have the following characteristics: - Previous knowledge of the EU, which may vary from basic to advanced - Professional experience as teachers (in schools or VET providers), varying from newly qualified to experienced - Different teaching specializations and subjects - Different educational backgrounds and degrees - Different teaching approaches and methodologies - Different levels of interest and motivation towards learning about the EU and teaching European matters Main deliverables: - EU matters course - EU matters methodology After studying the modules, the participants will have: - Increased knowledge and understanding of the EU and its functioning - Improved capacity to teach European matters in a comprehensive and engaging manner - Development of new teaching methodologies and skills related to the EU - Increased motivation and engagement in teaching European matters - Improved integration of European matters into the curriculum and lessons
