EU Policy of Sustainable Development: Experience for Ukrainian Cities and Regions under the process of Decentralization

"Ukrainian integration into the European Union in the conditions of implementation of sustainable development goals requires comprehensive study of experience and successful practices of European countries. This is especially true for such cities and regions in Ukraine, which gain its own experience under the decentralization reform. This, in turn, requires advanced training of a new generation of professionals for cities and regions in Ukraine, skills development of civil servants at the local level, and requires economic literacy of all segments of the society. The Module ""EU Policy of Sustainable Development: Experience for Ukrainian Cities and Regions under the process of Decentralization"" meets main priorities of Jean Monnet program, mainly in the part of formation a huge interest in civil society and civil servants of Ukraine concerning implementing the EU cases of sustainable development policies through educational, scientific-communicative, information and research project activities that will orient Ukrainian society to European values. The project promotes improvement in teaching disciplines and conducting research; scientific and expert dialogue in society between students, graduate students, academic staff of forward Ukrainian universities, public leaders and external experts, NGOs and municipalities; Ukraine's rapprochement with the EU to achieve the objectives of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. It focuses on an innovative teaching methodology, new forms of quality control of knowledge, learning in a mixed format (online and offline platforms). Dissemination of project results will be held through intensive training for local civil servants; conferences; round tables; guest lectures. In general, State Tax University will increase its institutional capacity as a leading educational scientific center in Ukraine and a driver of community development in the whole Kyiv region."
