Description

During the Covid-19 pandemic, financial institutions have been at the leading edge of the response to cyber risk. The proposed Jean Monnet “EU Practices to protect the financial system against cyber threats” aims at filling the gaps due to lack of theoretical knowledge and practical skills regarding the mechanism of combating cybercrime in the financial sector. Our objectives are 1. Enhancing digital resilience in financial transactions. 2. Promoting engagement with EU norms of responsible behavior of financial service consumers in cyberspace. 3. Exploring the legal EU issues regarding cyber security in the financial system. 4. Strengthening the knowledge, critical reflection, and discussion the EU study of detecting and mitigating cyber threats in the financial sphere. 5. Analyzing EU studies of using artificial intelligence and machine learning in cybersecurity of financial institutions. The Module includes the following activities: three interdisciplinary courses “EU Cybersecurity Policies and Practices in the financial system”, “EU approaches to detecting and mitigating cyber threats in the financial sphere”, “Machine Learning for Cybersecurity in Financial Services”; webinars; virtual conference; forum; hackathon. EU_PITCH aims to attract bachelor and master students of different educational programs: «Economic Cybernetics and Business Analytics», «Finance, banking and insurance», «Law» and “Cybersecurity”. The Module’s outputs will include online courses, the textbook for students, at least three articles in high-quality scientific journals, conference proceedings, a monograph, educational video, and publicity materials. As an impact, students receive knowledge on the EU best practices of detecting and mitigating cyber threats in the financial system and its using in their future jobs and business.
