The project aims to establish a dynamic, sustainable network that fosters European Union (EU) literacy among teachers and learners alike. A network that will serve as an educational platform for exploring EU history, institutions, targets and objectives, its operational mechanisms, as well as a means of understanding the rights and responsibilities of active EU citizenship. It will empower teachers with the tools and resources needed for the creation of EU innovative material and good practices, and bestow upon students the know-how of acting and reacting within a wider EU community. The products of the project will be: teacher-training workshops, a project website, a digital as well as printed school magazine on EU issues, new cross-curricular modules, interactive educational materials, including handouts, presentations, and debates, animated videos and a short theatrical play related to EU values all included in a teacher’s EU manual, study visits for learners and Open Days for the wider school community. The methodologies of project-based learning, experiential learning, collaborative teaching, peer-mentoring and inquiry based learning are going to be employed according to the teaching needs of each task so that the learning experience may be more attractive and engaging to learners. On-site research and study visits will follow.
