EU-SILC 2026 modules and preparation of 2027 ad hoc subject

With this project, ad-hoc modules added to regular EU-SILC will be conducted. SURS will prepare all phases that should be included in the survey – from collecting the data in 2026 to publishing the data and at the end also quality assessment. The project includes a cognitive test for the 2027 ad-hoc module. Every year we introduce some additional questions as an ad-hoc module. In 2026, the ad-hoc module will be added in two parts – 2026 6-yearly module on “Over-indebtedness, consumption and wealth” and the 2026 3-yearly ad-hoc module on “Labour Market and Housing”. This grant agreement will include only the ad-hoc module on “Over-indebtedness, consumption and wealth”. This topic will contain approximately 20 variables. Additionally, a new variable HC007 ‘Total energy cost’ from the module on Labour Market and housing is included in the grant. The new questions for the 2027 new module on “Mental health and wellbeing” will be cognitively tested before the implementation in the field.
