The EUSMECentre4 project has been conceived to help EU SMEs doing business in/with China by providing a range of first-hand support services to improve the level of readiness of the users towards the market. The support provided by this project becomes crucial considering the fast-changing regulations and rapidly-evolving market conditions of the Chinese market as knowledge might be the difference between succeeding or failing. This is the reason why all the services should be continued beyond the 36 months’ project lifetime ensuring that EU SMEs receive reliable and up-to-date market information. In the short term, this project aims at contributing to the internationalisation process of EU SMEs by strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of the EU SMEs operating in/with China. In this context, the implementation of innovative learning tools like an upgraded version of the SDT, the “B2B marketplace” or the hybrid trainings and conferences will be critical. To continue improving the offer of value-added services at the disposal of target SMEs, the project actions will focus on a set of pre-identified economic sectors and “special focus areas” such as innovation challenges, twin digital and green transition, artificial intelligence, industrialization, or the new needs of SMEs in the post COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the skills developed by the team during the 36 months project length, the consortium members will be able to continue providing these services beyond the lifetime of the EU-funded, which will also make them better equipped to assist their own SME members. In the long term, this proposal intends to increase the economic relations and trade volumes from the EU into China and the number of EU SMEs operating in the country while fostering growth and job creation and boosting innovation.
