"The EU UNESCO4ALL TOUR project aims to create an innovative, thematic, transnational tourism product based on the UNESCO WH sites and targeted to visually impaired people. The project focuses on UNESCO built WH sites, in particular the outstanding EU churches, monasteries, cathedrals in 4 different EU Member States by a ""spiritual"" narrative logic (""The Soul of Europe"").The scope is to develop an accessible, transnational cultural tourism package mixing together culture, the outstanding UNESCO WH sites by the exploitation of a disruptive CCI-related technology enabling the blind and visually impaired to experience cultural heritage as never before by integrating tactile exploration with audio data. This will be possible by the use of an high-tech ""ring"" detecting and reading the NFC tags included in the 3D printed replicas of the artworks (tactile surface tagged with NFC sensors) and then to communicate in wireless mode with a smart device (through a mobile app for tablets or smart phones). The project will also represent a unique opportunity to effectively engage the EU museums in making their venues fully accessible to the blind and visual impaired people thanks to a specific training to overcome the barriers and thus to attract new visitors. This will stimulate cooperation and create the opportunity for the cultural heritage and tourism stakeholders to learn from best practices and to receive training on digital and accessible tourism on one side and how to unlock the potentials of CCI-related technologies for tourism purposes. The project intends to increase the competitiveness of the European tourism in the UNESCO WH and accessible tourism segment by building on digital technology; to capitalise the shared value of European UNESCO cultural WH sites, complementing national, regional and local policies, fostering the adoption of innovative, creative tools and technologies for an unparalleled user experience and relevant “creative” component of the tourism offer."
