EU Youth Cinema: Green

Four project partners came together to build a strong alliance with like-minded actors from the region and create a unique platform bringing the green agenda to the young audience. Together they will present a diverse and high-quality program dedicated to the European Green Deal within the frame of the new EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal. Providing a unique and innovative green film platform, their project will be present in the educational and cultural scene in five European countries: Austria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia, and will be available also for a wider international audience. EUYC:GD is driven by sustainability and the need to provide a top-notch film-oriented program dedicated to the Green Deal which will increase the awareness about this topic among the young generation and create a very positive effect in the community. It aims to promote the importance of developing intellectual and social skills, raising knowledge and supporting personal initiatives on climate change and sustainable development in accordance with the EU Green Deal. The project is designed to strengthen the meaning of cinema as a place, where people come together to share emotions, and in case of EUYC:GD, also knowledge and inspiration. However, the project will revitalize the cinema experience both in its real and virtual dimension. The innovative streaming platform will be an essential part of EUYC:GD, helping to reach audiences without physical access to the cinema and allowing the organizers to be prepared for all possible scenarios around the pandemic. The overall goal of our project is to create a strong network for conveying knowledge and experiences about green agenda within younger audiences through screenings of especially valuable films followed by attractive and topic-oriented frame program and didactic materials. At the same time, EUYC:GD will increase the interest in European film among all audiences.
